So when Cult Beauty were selling this little trio of Jouer products I snapped them up right away (unfortunately I can not find it online anymore?). All of these shades are incredible products and if you were looking to try Jouer I would recommend all three!


The set contained (all available separately) the cheek and lip tint in Poppy, the Creme Eyeshadow Crayon in Rococo and the Mattifying Powder Bronzer in Sunswept.

All of the shades are very natural and wearable every day which I love and really suit my skin tone... and I imagine would actually suit the majority of skin tones!


On the products individually...
The Creme Eyeshadow in Rococo is a beautiful light champagne-gold which I love to apply on the inner corners and all over the eye to really brighten my eyes and give them almost an angelic look. It is super creamy and doesn't set hard and lasts well however it is one of the more creamier crayons I have tried and doesn't last as well as the Maybelline or ByTerry cream eyeshadows so I would definitely recommend wearing a primer with these eyeshadows!
The Lip & Cheek Tiny in Poppy looks like a red in the pan but is much sheerer than that, which I like so that you won't over do it. It is a reddy-pink shade (a poppy shade!) and looks very natural and almost mimicks the natural flush I have. It is also a very sophisticated shade of blush (if that even exisits?) as it isn't too pink or blue to look too girly and isn't too brown or red toned to look too bronzed. A perfect easy, every-day shade which is super comfortable on the lips and cheeks! Oh. The shade on the lips is GORGEOUS! I am not on the hunt to find a lipstick shade like this shade I love it so much!
Finally, my favourite, is the Mattifying Bronzer in Sunswept. This bronzer is simply just gorgeous. The shade would suit light-medium skin tones as it is quite a light, natural bronzer without much orange in it. You really can't over-do it with this bronzer as it is quite light and sheer but it is very buildable. I use a mini kabuki brush to just dust this around the perimeters of my face to add a healthy bronzed flush and it looks so so natural and not at all powdery or heavy. I can not praise this enough!

As you can see it is a very natural yet pretty make-up. I am so in love with Jouer after testing out these products and can not wait to try out more! And the mattifying bronzer has found its way into my staple everyday routine which is quite difficult as I am such a floozy trying out new items and putting other ones to the side!

Whilst doing my usual browsing around Boots 'thang I caught my eye on the new L'Oreal lipstick collection. These are customised nudes for each of the L'Oreal cover girls. A fantastic idea as you can find your perfect nude by matching your skin tone to one of the spokeswomen!


The packaging is nice and luxe with a matte and gold finish. The lipstick itself is very creamy and comfortable yet not too creamy that it slips around everywhere. However, even though it is creamy I would say that it is the type of formula that requires perfect lips, meaning that if you have any dry patches, it will catch and emphasise them!


I picked up the shade Eva as I have light-medium olive toned skin which is closest to Eva's. The shade itself is beautiful. It is a very classic, sophisticated pink-nude. Perfect not only for neutral eyes but for a polished, elegant look. Definitely one for work. I am so in love with this shade as it is one of those no-thought lipsticks which will go well with pretty much any make-up and any outfit! The only fault I can really give this lipstick is the scent, it has that grandma lipstick scent and I prefer a little more vanilla scented lipstick like the MAC ones.




Have you tried any of the L'Oreal Privée Lipsticks?

Remember our love for the Nars And God Created the Woman Palette? Well, after my still on-going love for that palette, it encouraged me to buy this one! Ooops. This palette is, of course, a limited edition release from Nars, 1 of 2 eyeshadow palettes which have been released. The two are a purpley toned one - Fairy's Kiss and a golden & green one - Ride Upto The Moon. I have enough golden bronzes so went for this beautifully purple Fairy's Kiss (£32).

After having a little play around I would say that my least favourite shade is the limited edition shade in Manosque, it has a strange darkness to it? I can't explain but as a base shade it is too dark for my skin tone however I imagine it would look beautiful as a base shade on dark skin tones or a crease shade on light skin tones. The purpley tones are quite beautiful and would do a great job at enhancing my brown eyes - which I find to be a pretty hard job.


On the actual shadows themselves, they all have a nice smooth texture and blend nicely, having true-to-pan pigmentation. The darkest shades in the palette however aren't as densely pigmented but can be easily built up. I never really find any fall out with Nars eyeshadows and the same applies here.



This palette has some great day and night shades. You could do anything from a soft smoky eye, a winged eye, a soft purple defined crease or a nice dark purple dramatic eye. If you are a fan of purple toned eye shadows then it is worth checking this out however is there are only a few shades you like, perhaps look into buying them in singles or duos?

I am still fully playing around with this so can not say whether if I had to I would buy this again however I am really enjoying using it for the moment and might pop up some eye looks you can create with this within the next week!

Have you tried the new Nars limited edition eyeshadow palettes?
I am bringing to you a little series called the Beauty Kitchen. This will be filled with food and beauty loving ingredients! The first in this series is Coconut Oil. Here I have two, the RMS Raw Coconut Cream (70g, £12.50) and one from Holland and Barratts (453g, £14.99). Either of which can be used as skincare or to cook with! But when buying coconut oil always try to get pure, organic coconut oil, it will always have the best results!


Let's get the cooking benefits out of the way - Cooking with conventional oils such as Olive Oil is actually really bad for you as when heated all that goodness turns bad. Not going to get techy on you but that literally is the whole point. Start cooking with coconut oil! This will not transform into a nasty demon when heated and will retain all it's goodness! Rapeseed oil is also good to cook with if you don't like coconut oil.


Now to the fun part,
first and foremost, coconut oil makes a beautiful moisturiser, I like to use it on very dry areas such as my elbows and the heels of my feet! Plus it would be great for dry skin sensitive gals as it is a very natural moisturiser. You can use this as a cleanser, it is soothing, nourishing and is great at removing heavy and waterproof eye make-up. If you have very thirsty, dry or sore skin then slap this on, leave it for 5-10 minutes and then wash it off, a great simple face mask. But why stop at the face? Use it on your hair! You can layer this on thickly as a nourishing pre-wash treatment or take a 5p size and rub it between your hands then apply to the lengths of your hair to have smooth frizz-free hair.

What do you use coconut oil for?
Being a beauty and fashion maniac, I have of course been stalking many peoples instagrams, blogs and of course Vogue and Allure to ensure that I keep up with NYFW and LFW! On one of those stalks I stumbled upon the backstage beauty at Marc by Marc Jacobs where the models were sporting a beautiful one-shade blue lid and was instantly inspired to re-create it! Of course you can find out online the exact products used if you want it perfect but I just wanted to see whether a normal girl could shop her stash and re-create it at home without spending any money, and I did!





To create this look I had to mix a few blues to get a similar blue that they used. Most of the blues I own are too light or too dark! I started off with the Rimmel Scandal Eyes Shadow Stick in Tempting Turqoise and blended it out into a high rounded shape with a MAC 217. The shade however was quite green and the Marc Jacobs look was a true blue. I then decided to use the shade Gunmetal from the Urban Decay Naked Palette using the same 217 to sweep that on top of the eyelid. We only want a little of this to darken the blue sightly, if you go too dark in any areas then simply apply a little more of the Rimmel to lighten it. Finally I used the Maybelline Colour Tattoo in Light in Purple and patted that lightly onto the whole lid to cancel out any green tones from the first turquoise shade, resulting in a true-blue colour. To finish it off, use a few cotton buds and some moisturiser to clean up underneath the eye then apply a natural mascara, I opted for the Clinique Bottom Lashes Mascara as the tiny wand gave me control to add mascara softly to create soft, natural lashes.



Which runway shows have inspired your make-up?
When essiebutton chatted about this a few weeks ago I was like. Yes. I kept my eyes peeled and quickly snatched it up. A lightweight, natural finish concealer for the eyes? It has my name all over it and it did not disappoint! 


This teeny little item is quite the pricey little number at £29 - the same price as some high end foundations! However this little number has fast become the little black dress of my make up collection, a simple everyday staple, a very guilty staple at that!

So let's get technical-ish.
This is a skincare/make-up hybrid, it has SPF 20 PA++ to keep those peepers from catching the sun = wrinkles. Having a scan over the ingredients I see nothing groundbreaking in terms of skincare however I am no chemist so can not claim anything good or bad. But the skincare benefits are not what draw me to this, it is the concealer itself...

It comes with a little doe foot applicator which I quite like and you can dot it on your dark areas and blend it out with either your ring finger or a brush - my preferred brush of choice is the RT Base Shadow Brush. When blended it quite literally blurrs any darkness and lightens the eyes. I don't suffer too much from puffiness or dark circles so find this the perfect everyday concealer however if you do have quite dark under eye circles I may not recommend this. The best thing about this concealer though is the finish, it sets so naturally and is not a creaser as almost everything I apply under my eyes creases and immediately looks heavy and cakey which is not an attractive look! So if you find that everything creases on you and makes you look like a hot heavy mess then do do do try this out at a Dior counter, I promise you, you will be leaving with a little black bag and a dip in your purse!

The downside? The size. It is so tiny. 6ml of tiny! I would love to repurchase this again and again and again but the price for the size is quite extortionate. The second, there are only two shades so there are no options for darker skinned gals. Now I am more tan I chose shade 002  Luminous Peach which is peachier than shade 001 Luminous Beige (more yellow) so I feel like it counter acts darkness better and doesn't give me that Kim-K highlighted effect that I feel most under eye concealers do!

If you are desperate to get your hands on this beautiful yet pricey product then try going on Escentual as they sell it for £24.65 which makes the blow a little softer! The true test to this product will be seeing whether I repurchase it...

Luckily, I still have quite a bit left!

Ever had those under the skin pimples? Bulbous under the skin spots? Little red pimples? Large eruptions?

Whatever it is, this super skincare duo can fix it right away!


I have finally found the cure for nightmare skin days. When your skin is seriously unhappy, has reacted to something or it may just be that time of the month, these two babies are my immediate go-to's.

My skin completely broke out last month, it was red and sore, had many under the skin spots which if you have had any you will know are almost impossible to heal! After a few days of using these products, the spots healed (without coming to a head or scarring), redness and soreness faded and my skin was more or less back to normal. I was quite shocked at the transformation and knew I had to share it, hoping that it would be a miracle worker for those of you suffering from spotty skin problems!

Every other day I would put a good layer of the Aesop Chamomile Concentrate Anti-Blemish Masque on and leave it on until it completely dries. I would then softly wash it of with warm water and my hands (being too scared to approach my face with a muslin cloth!). Already it feels and looks a little better but I know that it needs some moisture plus some extra healing ingredients. I recieved a sample of the Origins Make A Difference Plus Treatement after a purchase online and decided to slap it on my face as I have heard many good things about this in concerns with healing spots. It feels quite siliconey, yet that smooth feeling was welcomed as my face was so sore. It has the typical orangey Origins scent to it and sinks into the skin beautifully. I would usually apply this before bed (after my mask). I would use this every night, unlike the Aesop Masque. After three days my skin looked better but still had some spots and the larger spots under my skin were reducing, I knew it wouldn't heal if I just stopped there so continued with this method for the following week. And it worked. I was quite amazed that only two products got my skin back on track and really healed it. I hope that you have the same results as I have tried many different spot skincare products and nothing has worked as well as this combination!

What are your spotty skin saviours?
Being a beauty blogger I have the "gotta catch them all" mentally, when I see a new collection or product I insist that I need every shade. However, sometimes when things are a little more costly I want to really try it out first and see whether I like it. Sometimes, I like the formula of something so much that I just have to purchase another product in the range, these are those products!


Nars Sheer Glow Foundation
My natural/pale shade of this foundation is in Punjab. I used this foundation many a times when I wanted a beautiful perfected base for evenings out or even for long days out. It provides a smooth medium coverage (builable to heavy) without looking heavy or cakey. It isn't a "glowy" foundation but it is certainly not matte. It provides a little dewy/natural finish to the skin making it appear even more natural plus the lasting power of this foundation is great! I loved it so much that when I returned to England after a week in the sun I just had to purchase the shade Barcelona for when I want a flawless base or when I need that extra bit of coverage. A perfect all rounder foundation!

ByTerry Ombre Blackstar
You may remember my review of the Bronze Moon shade? Well I fell so much in love with the formula of these cream eye shadow sticks that I was longing for another. I opted for the shade Velvet Orchid which is a velvety dark purple. I chose this shade as I can't think of any dupes for it and saw it in action in a Pixiwoo video and knew the moment I saw it swiped on that I needed this in my life. The texture of these are just beautiful and buttery. So smooth that they blend very easily but work fast because they will set and will not budge all day/night! The best thing about the formula of this is that it doesn't dry tight or hard like some of the highstreet cream eyeshadows do, when it dries it still feel very light and comfortable on the eyelid! The simplest more comfortable cream eyeshadow around!

Hourglass Opaque Rouge Liquid Lipstick
The new age lipsticks have never been better. These lip laquers are blowing up right now and are the "it" girls of the lipstick world. Hourglass really do it best, in my opinion. My first purchase was the shade Icon which is a dark blood red, the perfect sexy statement lip. It applies very easily and once set it doesn't move an inch! You can drink, eat and do anything you wish with this product on, it really will stay perfectly put. A little tricky to apply and you must avoid all natural urges to smack those lips together when applied as they will transfer onto your lips and go patchy. The trick is to apply, not let those lips touch for a few seconds until it is good and dry then you can go about your day/evening without a second thought. The most long lasting lips I have ever encountered, I knew I needed another one in my stash so ran for the very famous shade Riviera, which we all know has been pouted onto Jessica Albas lips at the Golden Globes. If it's good enough for Jessica...

Which products have you loved so much you had to pick up more?
After doing my top five favourite stores, I thought I would do a top five facial waters (I see a theme here!).


So first of all, what are facial waters for? Basically, a multitude of things. You can use them to take off the first layer of your make-up or any light eye make-up. You can use it after washing your face as a toner to remove any excess dirt. You can play spa and use in before or after face masks to cleanse and refresh the skin. They are great for perking you and your make-up to make you feel a bit more awake. What else... hmm, you can use it if you have gone a little bit overboard with the powder. Plus if you shop for the right water with the best ingredients for your skin it can help to brighten, minimise pores or hydrate!

Dior Instant Cleansing Water
This is the product I turn to for a gentle quick clean (as the name suggests). Those early uni mornings where I need to refresh and cleanse my skin quickly? Well this baby does the job. It's also great for removing light eye makeup. I have never found this drying and love it so so much. Expensive but a nice little luxury.

Botanics 100% Organic Rosewater Toning Spritz
To find such an organic product for such a low price truly is amazing (£3.33). The scent of this is just turkish delightful (sorry, I just had to!) and it being in a spray bottle works for a multitude of things (see above). What I prefer this for? I prefer this for a little post cleanse gentle toning action as I find it to be very hydrating. Plus it helps remove any nasty chemicaly water from your face.

Caudalie Beauty Elixir
Need I say more? I love this product. This reins supreme in my eyes. It may be a little strong for others but personally I will repurchase this til the day I day - or the day they stop selling this which will ultimately be the same day (I jest, I jest). But this stuff is seriously packed with great ingredients and makes for a magnificient toner but an even better pick-me-up as the pepperminty goodness really does refresh and awaken the skin. A revision time must-have if you ask me!

Omorovicza Queen of Hungary Face Mist
The luxury mist. This too has wonderful ingredients and not too many of them which makes it great for all skin types - even sensitive. It is magnificently simple yet incredibly hydrating and feels ever so fresh. This again is one of my multi-use favourites and I really do use it for everything but almost always whip it out on pamper evenings! 

Melvita Orange Water
This little gem came in a beauty box and I have fallen in love with it. It is quite refreshing but nothing as pungent as the Caudalie beauty elixir so makes it great for all skin types. I adore using this as a refreshing spritz or post cleanse. My favourite way to use this is to spray some into the palms of my hands and gentle press it into my face. Soothing, hydrating and refreshing... what more could you ask for?

What's your favourite facial water?
So after my holidays I picked up a Chanel Illusion d'Ombre in the shade Ebloui which is a beautiful brown-cranberry shade. It isn't cheap at £24 so when I found a cranberry shade cream eyeshadow in Boots by Maybelline (shade: Pommegranate Punk), I almost couldn't hold in my excitement!


Let us compare thee: both in similar packaging. Obviously the Chanel packaging is divine but I ain't gonna knock the Maybelline packaging.

They differ in textures. The Chanel has almost a spongey mousse-like texture which is powdery soft whereas the Maybelline Colour Tattoo is very much a creamy soft texture.



I named this a dupe? because they aren't quite the same and pull off different undertones however are incredibly similar. The Chanel Ebloui shade (left) as you can see is a little darker, less frosty but still has shimmer through it. It has very strong brown undertones which become more noticable when blended. The Maybelline Pomegranate Punk is more cranberry purple/red toned and doesn't have such a dark base to it and has less individual glitter and more of a shimmery sheen.



When blended out you can truly see where they differ, the Chanel blends out into a reddened brown whereas the Maybelline blends out to a purple.



When packed on with not much blended these shades are very similar in person and look like a beautiful burgandy. I would say that if you want the brown undertones that the Chanel one has then do get that because it isn't present in the Maybelline however if it is the beautiful cranberry tone which you love in the shade Ebloui yet don't fancy the £24 price tag then the Maybelline version is an absolute bargain and fantastic quality!

Now this is a more luxe store with high end beauty offerings so is great for a nice splurge! Plus their skin are offerings are amazing so if in doubt and are looking on the higher end of the scale then do pop into a local Space NK. What's more, the N.Dulge card where each naughty purchase are accompanied with rewards points so that you can treat yourself for less.

Now beauty products can be pricey soto soften the blow such websites as escentual offer reduced prices on certain brands/products than anywhere else. Why? I don't know but I ain't gonna question it. Along the same lines of Cult Beauty this websites offers hard to find quality brands but are also full of well known high end brands as well as affordable/budget brands. Plus they have the most amazing sales which you won't find anywhere else!

I know I said five and this is six but just hear me out! Both these stores offer some of my favourite brands such as Origins and Dior. However some offer grands which the other doesn't (Urban Decay/La Roche Posay). Although what they do both offer are points cards which I love!!! They both offer the same casual offerings of familiar brands so serve the same purpose but both meet different needs as we can't always buy high end products and boots really do bring it with some of the best affordable beauty brands!

The Challenge
I was lucky enough to be able to design my own Impulse bottle and create a matching nail design! The prize? A ticket for myself and ONE of my very lucky followers to go to London Fashion Week (fingers crossed!).

Let me say, I am not very creative when it comes to arts and crafts and usually make a massacre out of anything I try to create however I am quite proud of my little lacy bottle and hope you like it too!



My matching nails are Very Pink and Very Very pink to colour co-ordinate with the bottle, they have a silver glitter trim to match the lace and silver flowers. A sweet and romantic nail to match my design!





Brand new from Bourjois are the Blush and Gloss Exclusif. I purchased the Blush Exclusif. It is a cream pink blush which is supposed to adjust to your ph balance so that everyone has their own exclusif shade!



 Now I enjoy my fair share of gimmicky ph-balance changing products, I have all the ones Dior had to offer and loved them all so couldn't pass up this one! The shade is a light yet vibrant pink with strong blue undertones. On first swatch it looks quite light and like a shade which would be best suited on paler skin tones however when applied it blends beautifully into your skin and really does look quite natural. It leaves a very "pinched" look to your cheeks which I find to be so pretty and brightening. 


Whether it changes a lot to my ph, I really don't know. It does seem to melt into the skin and look very dolly and natural but whether that is down to a bit of blending or the magic ph stuff in it, I honestly don't know. But, if you like blue-pink shades or are looking for a flattering, girly blush shade then I would recommend checking this out!


Have you tried the Bourjois Exclusif range yet?
So when I saw Barbara (thepersianbabe) rave about this I made it my mission to find it. I tried perhaps 3 or 4 different superdrugs until I found the last one left at my 5th Superdrug hunt attempt! Allow me to present the BeautyUK High Brow!


 This brow palette is definitely for those with brown-black hair. It comes with a brush which is ok and does the job and a pair of mini tweezers which will come in handy for when you are on-the-go.


The three shades are, a light ashy brown which would suit almost any hair colour and is the lightest of the three. The second is a very dark brown, almost a black which if used lightly can mimick dark hair if you have any patches where hair hasn't grown back from over-plucking. The final shade is a brown which applies quite dark and isn't too warm so will be great for most brunettes. This can create a either a subtle or strong brow depending on the way you apply it. You also get a wax to set eyebrows in place however I am not very fond of it as if you apply too much can have a white-cast on the brows.


I really love this palette as depending on my mood I can make my brow as natural or bold as I want but a mix of the three shades in different areas creates a very natural brow! I really do recommend this to all brunette brow lovers - if you can find it!


Have you tried the BeautyUK High Brow?
So I have been enjoying the Clarins Pure Melt Cleansing Gel* so much that it instantly became part of my daily routine, so much so that I completely forgot to talk about it as I already assumed I had! If you could see my bottle now you would know how much I love it as I have already used upto 1/3 of the bottle - which is fast for me!


So, what is this cleanser? This is a gel cleanser which I use only in the evenings as my pre-cleanse to take off all that make-up. I love this cleanser as it really does melt when massaged into the skin and you can take off the bulk of your make-up and dirt from your face without scrubbing too hard. However, what I love the most about this? It doesn't need a muslin cloth! Now don't get me wrong, I really do love me some muslin cloth cleansing but when your feeling lazy (or have come home a little drunk, oops) and if you are travelling, sometimes you just can't be bothered! This cleanser turns almost into a milky consistency with water so you can (as the bottle suggests) rinse it off and it leaves no oily residue on the skin. This is so so easy to use that you can't excuse falling to sleep sans face wash! Whether it is good for the skin? I don't know as it has a few questionable ingredients (I'm looking at you Red and Yellow dye!) however as a pre-cleanser it does the job brilliantly and is perfect for travellers who don't want to pack a million muslin cloths and want a really effective cleanse for the evening - plus it is great for removing eye make-up! Really worth a try if you are a lover of gel cleansers and want easy fresh-faced evening!

So some of you may be reading this title thinking, "a little late for this post isn't it Sarah?". Aha, no it is not! I saw many bronzed posts similar to this at the beginning of Summer but I was never one to understand putting on fake tan when it is warm and you can catch some rays in your backgarden or at the park? I am however a strong believe in a little sun-tan extension. It has been more than a month since I went on holiday and am having the post-holiday blues as England moves swiftly into Autumn. My tan is still here but has lost a little oomph and I want to revive a bit of that bronzed amazonian goddess glow back into my skin! So, how do I go about achieving that and pro-longing my tan? Well, here are some products to help with that process...


 Face
I am always scared to add any tanning products to the face however these two I can just slap on and relax, sleep and wake up with a glowing face. Clarins Liquid Bronze Self Tanner for face is the easiest product ever, apply it to a cotton pad, sweep onto the face, done! I find this quite subtle but of course if used for a few nights can build into a nice little tan. It gives a sun-kissed glow to the face rather than a brown tan so paler skins I think this would be good for you! Another favourite was a goody in Julys issue of Elle, Rodial Brazillian Tan. I picked up the light version, being scared of waking up with oompa loompa face! This is a nice gel formula which is very easy to apply to the face, the light version again provides a subtle sun-kissed glow and is buildable - my favourite type of face tanners!

The Quick Fix
I have quickly become obsessed with this product, it's the Caudalie Divine Legs (read: divine body). A nice little slap on your body wait a few minutes and go product! This little baby won't transfer onto white (tried and tested) will last with some hardcore dance moves (tried and tested) and doesn't get patchy if you get a little overzealous in the application process (yes, tried and tested!). Of course this is quite pricey and is a little bit of a luxe product in it's lovely glass bottle but another fabulous alternative which have fully used a month back is the Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs!

Tanned Goddess
One of my favourite old-time fake tanners is the L'Oreal Sublime Bronze. Being a gel it applies so so easily and won't go streaky if you are a little naughty and apply without a mitt (wash hands after!!!). What I love love love to do with this product is to mix with some body butter or moisturiser and there I have myself a gradual self-tanner moisturiser with a bit more of a kick. I like this post-tan as sometimes my tan can miss the "glow" it had and this is a little orange so adds a little warmth to a tan however if pale then beware cos it may show more orange than warm on you. Finally. the creme-da-la-tan of all fake tan is the Xen Tan Dark Lotion Luxe. This is the ultimate fake tanner. I am always always afraid of the orange look. I would rather embrace my paler tones than be the dreaded orange-tinged girl. This tan however has wonderful olive tones and looks oh so natural! A definite night-time tan as it can get sticky but is worth the extra hassle as the next day I got many a comment on my tan - most believing I had been away or on the sun bed! If that isn't the sign of a great fake tanner then I don't know what is!
