The Cream Product Edit

For the cynical and sarcastic British, we are all upset that Summer is over here in England but at the same time, are loving that we can finally say "Well, that's our Summer over!" and go about our days in a huff, umbrella in hand! We have now moved into that confused zone where the seasons are slowly transitioning and we don't know if it is too soon to don our boots and burgundy scarves or should still sport that coral lipstick we have been loving all Summer? (p.s I say you rock whatever lipstick you feel like)

I have picked a few products to help us through Summer and into Autumn. All of them are cream products so will keep that fresh, dewy Summer skin whilst comforting it against the bashes of wind and rain.

The Base
For the base I have chosen to go with the Chanel CC Cream, this is a traditional style CC/BB Cream that provides great sun protection (for those still Summer bright days) yet is a true cream so feels luxurious and comforting on the skin (for the miserable windy days). The Chanel CC Cream provides a very nice coverage, and as it is a cream it can be applied lightly or can be built up to a good medium-full coverage. To cover anything extra, I have pulled out the heavy weight Kevyn Aucoin Sensual Skin Enhancer. This little tub contains a super highly pigmented cream that when rubbed between the fingers melts down to a slightly oily texture (as it is an oil based product) that can then be applied anywhere on the face (including under the eyes). It is very soothing and incredibly pigmented so will cover anything and can be used sheerly (with a good moisturiser) or used to spot-conceal problem areas.

The Eyes
For eyes I have picked my favourite Chanel Illusion D'Ombre cream eyeshadows, these are a mix between a pressed pigment and a cream eyeshadow and come in some beautiful shades. They pack a punch, are easily applied and stay all day. They aren't too creamy so won't smudge and don't give a glossy look on the eyelid so won't look too beach babe when at the office. A great drugstore alternative are the Maybelline Colour Tattoo Cream eyeshadows which are much creamier in texture but are just as easily applied and set down so they last all day. Another cream product which I have been obsessed about is the Anastasia Dip Brow, it is a cream brow product that is ued to fill the brows in quickly and gives a defined brows in seconds. The best part? It stays all day, so it will withstand the heat and the rain so there won't be any instances where you look in the mirror and wonder where the hell your eyebrows went.

The Cheeks
I have a myriad of choices for cheeks as I have been reaching and loving these all Summer and know I will continue using them well into Autumn as they are super easy to apply and give a very fresh and natural finish on the skin. First I will start with bronzers, my favourite has been the Becca Bronzing Skin Perfector. This is a cream bronzer that you can apply and blend with fingers on the high points of the face to give a very natural bronzed glow. It has a little luminesence to it to enhance the glow but the best part is the shade, it is a very natural, olive toned bronzer which truly mimicks a holiday glow giving a very real tan to the skin. Another option is the Kevyn Aucoin Creamy Glow Duo which is a cream version of their famous contour and hilghlighting powders. It is very compact so easy to carry around in your handbag to touch up your bronzer and highlighter and keep that summer glow throughout the day. Another highlighting option, and perhaps my favourite cream highlighter, is the RMS Living Luminzer this is a coconut oil based highlighter that gives the most beautiful sheen to the skin, apply this to the tops of the cheekbones, on the cupids bow and inner corners of your eyes and you will never have a fatigued or gloomy complexion. To add some colour to the cheeks I have two options, the first is the Becca Beach Tint this is a creamy, slightly liquidy blush that provides an incredibly natural tint to the cheeks (and lips). It is quite sheer which means that you can never apply too much and dries down to a skin-like finish so this truly provides a flushed look to the skin. If you are wanting a dewier effect then the Jouer Cheek and Lip Tint is the perfect option, this is a creamy tint that leaves that dewy, almost glossy effect on the skin so keeps it looking fresh and dewy. Again, it isn't too pigmented so always looks natural on the skin.
